Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched its first smartphone in India dubbed as POCO F1 at a Global launch event in New Delhi. The company says POCO brand offers smartphones that focus on features that matter and do not burn a hole in the buyer’s pocket. This means the Poco phones will be more value for money smartphones. The latest POCO F1 applies the same offering 6.18-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 845 SoC, and a 4000mAh battery at a price starting from Rs. 20,999. With such a price tag, the POCO F1 is a cheapest Snapdragon 845 smartphone to launch till date.
Poco F1 – Specifications, features
The dual SIM [hybrid] Poco F1 flaunts a 6.18-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a notch. Under the hood, it includes a Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. It also features LiquidCool technology which prevents the device to heat-up while playing high-end graphics games.
The Poco F1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI on top with POCO launcher, and the company has promised to roll out Android 9.0 Pie update in Q4 2018. It has fingerprint sensor as well as IR face unlock as the security features. The company says the users can unlock the phone in just 0.4 seconds using the Face Unlock. The feature also works fine in pitch darkness.
On the camera department, the device sports a 12MP rear camera with dual LED Flash, f/1.9 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, Sony IMX363 sensor, Dual Pixel auto focus, secondary 5MP camera with Samsung sensor. The Sony IMX 363 is the same sensor used on smartphones such as the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S earlier this year, so expect some reliable performance from the Poco F1. On the front, there is a 20MP front-facing camera. The storage includes 64/128/256GB which can be further extendable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
The Poco F1 has a USB Type-C charging port and it supports USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 5.0. There is a 4000mAh battery on the back with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
Price and Availability:
The POCO F1 comes in Graphite Black, Steel Blue and Rosso Red colors as well as Armored Edition with Kevlar back. It also comes with a soft case in the box. The following are the price details of the Poco F1 –
