After one year from the launch of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, today the Chinese smartphone giant has finally unveiled its successor dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 at a special event in Beijing, China. The device comes with notable features including a bezel-less display with a slider design, four cameras, Snapdragon 845 SoC, and up to 10GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 also supports 5G which is the upcoming mobile network band for year 2019.

The dual-SIM Mi Mix 3 flagship smartphone comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolutions with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Company claims that the device has up to 93.4 percent screen to body ratio, and narrow the ‘chin’ at the bottom of the device by nearly 4.5mm compared to the Mi Mix 2S. It runs on company’s own MIUI 10 skin which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
As expected, the Mi Mix 3 is powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset as the Qualcomm still have to announce its next-gen flagship mobile chipset. The chipset is coupled with 6GB/8GB/10GB of RAM and has up to 256GB internal storage. There is a fingerprint scanner on the rear side and packs a 3200mAh battery support for Quick Charge 4+ fast charging as well as 10W wireless charging.
On the camera department, the Mi Mix 3 sports a 12MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 4K video recording, and a 12MP secondary camera for portrait pictures. On the front, there is a 24MP selfie camera accompanied by a 2MP sensor for depth sensing. The device is also capable of taking 960fps slow-motion video party as well, but it’s unclear if this is a proper 960fps video or of its software-enhanced.
The Mi Mix 2 successor is just 8.46mm thick, includes connectivity options like Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5, NFC, and USB Type-C.
Price and Availability:
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 comes in Onyx Black, Jade Green, and Sapphire Blue colors, is priced at 3299 yuan (US$ 474 / Rs. 34,800 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, 3599 yuan (US$ 518 / Rs. 37,965 approx.) for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs 3999 yuan (US$ 575 / Rs. 42,185 approx.) and the top-end 10GB RAM with 256GB storage ‘The Palace Museum’ Special Edition that comes with 24K gold-coated bronze statue costs 4999 yuan (US$ 719 / Rs. 52,770 approx.). It will go on sale in China from November 1st.
